Mindful Eating

Mindful is a recurring word today! But what does it mean?

Easy! To be with the MIND FULL. That’s my simple definition.

To be with the mind full with what you are doing in that moment. Do not let your thoughts, ideas, and emotions overwhelm you. Savor what is happening right here and right now (Fatboy Slim’s song is playing in my mind :D).

Mindfull eating is the practice to eat by paying attention on WHAT you eat and HOW you eat. The magic of mindful eating, summons a spell of savoring every bite. How poetic is this!

While you are eating ask you these questions:

WHAT

Is it a pear? Which colour is it? Is it sour or sweet? What about the consistency? Is it firm or juicy?

HOW

How is the environment around me? Is it messy or calm? Am I eating slow and savouring it or am I just bolting everything down and I don‘t even know what I‘m putting in my mouth?

WHY

Am I really hungry or am I eating just because “it‘s time“? Did I decide what I eat or is it the easiest option? Am I eating something good for me, nature and the society or not? Maybe was just the easiest option?

WHERE

Where does this food come from?

WHO

Who prepared it? Who produced its components?
