Plastic bags look thin and harmless but they need around 150 years to disappear. Most of them end up in oceans and rivers. They choke sea life and release microplastics.
Many countries have banned plastic bags, but they are still very popular.
Please, say no to plastic bags also when travelling throughout these countries. This small action repeated many times mean a lot for our oceans.
When you are at home, please, remember to grab your reusable bags before heading out to shop. And also when doing your suitcases!
For extra protection of your fruits and vegetables, consider using smaller bags. Avoid using the disposable bags you find in supermarkets.

The production costs of paper and compostable bags are too high. People use them for just a few hours and then throw them away.
